I have more than 8 years of professional experience and worked at some of the most respected national and international universities and companies. I have been successful in developing innovative experimental techniques and have more than 6 US/European Patents, 10 research articles and 20+ international presentation to my credit. Having graduated from Dublin City University with a PhD in Chemical Sciences (specialization in Organic and Organometallic chemistry) I gained knowledge in the field of Organic, Inorganic and Organometallic Chemical compounds. On professional front, I worked with GlaxoSmithKline Research Centre (United Kingdom) as a medicinal and organic chemist. I lead multiple projects involving drug discovery targets for rare disease, cancer, anti-bacterial and asthma, which enabled me to win two awards in the company.
I worked as a Head chemist at Exigence Technologies Inc (Winnipeg, Manitoba) from 2016 – 2018 and have gained experience in synthesis and analysis of antimicrobial properties of organic compounds in small and bulk scale, purification and characterization of organic monomers, polymeric antimicrobial coatings and coating formulation. In addition to it, I am experienced in various coatings (2K urethane, epoxy, vinyl and polyester) for wood, plastic and stainless-steel metal substrates. I have been involved in managing more than 5 projects simultaneously with a team of 11 members (both at PhD and masters level). I have contributed in all aspects of projects which includes troubleshooting of chemistry analysis instruments, Analytical reports, QC/QA reports, SDS reports, project detailing, briefing, presenting, project management, costing as well as research data sharing to various clients. Recently published 5 patents on the antimicrobial coating technology.
Currently I am working as a Sr. Technical Chemical Scientist and formulating semiconductor graphite coating on fabric for wearable sensor technologies at Vista-Medical Limited, Winnipeg, MB. The company is having a brand name and selling in market as Boditrak. I am looking at the production, QC, chemical safety as well as day to day R&D experiments on 2nd generation of the current formulation.
