Sofie

My name is Sofie and I am 27 years old. I grew up on the slopes of the North Shore mountains in Vancouver, and completed a Geography degree and specialized in Environment and Sustainability at the University of British Columbia. My favourite place to be is outdoors - and my hobbies of skiing, trail-running, hiking, and surfing keep me going all year round. I care deeply about our planet and the wealth of life that calls it home, and am dedicated to minimizing my own environmental impact and inspiring others to live sustainably as well. I love to share my passion for the outdoors and the environment with others.

Availability: My availability is very flexible, and can be easily tailored to meet the needs of my students.

Experience: I have many years of varied experience with children and young adults, both as an authority figure and a peer, that have allowed me to gain skills and confidence in lesson planning, time management, problem-solving, multi-tasking, and communication. This experience has come in the form of providing English language classes at a community center in Nicaragua, coaching summer soccer camps, and teaching a special transitional class for recent immigrants at an elementary school level.
