Information about Mathew
1) I know what it`s like to learn German at all levels.
I began learning German in 7th grade and stuck with it through AP German (before going on to study German language, literature, and culture in undergrad). As such, I can provide students learning German with useful and simple ways of remembering vocabulary and understanding grammar (which German has its fair share of, but it is almost always logical).
2) Patience is key.
Since I know how it is to learn the German language, I consider myself extra patient. It`s not always easy, but I know the most common sticking points and work with students to get through them.
3) I recognize a teacher/tutor can make all the difference.
I had the benefit of amazing teachers in high school and professors at college (Virginia Tech). This__and of course hard work__enabled me to leave undergrad with a 3.95 German major GPA, recognition as the top student in the department, and a Fulbright Scholarship to Austria.
