Experience: I have taught and tutored students in a variety of subjects from the primary to university level. I learned the importance of attentively listening to my studentsâ concerns and believing that each student has the potential for success. When teaching mathematics especially, I wish for my students to know that they are all mathematicians. My professor, Trevor Brown, taught me that âmath is beautiful.â There are no words truer than those. As a teacher, I encourage my students to focus on the big ideas and I expose them to enriched problems. I wish to encourage my students to have a growth mindset in order for them to believe they are all mathematicians and that math is indeed beautiful. Through the use of concrete materials and technology, students can explore math and science beyond the chalkboard and see some real-world applications that the subject has to offer.
